Seen on twitter some folk sharing their ideas for raising funds for the club. Some absolute whoppers here including a list that I'm sure musta been compiled by Bernard Manning! Gives us yours...

Eh buy good players, win things sell good players for a big profit, put Neil Lennon's teeth under the centre circle for the fairy's to leave us ££££ repeat, obviously the messiah formerly known as Brenda will have better ideas.

Hang Whyte and Green up in the center circle as pinatas and charge a quid a swing.

Would have to limit how many swings or there wouldn't be time for the Game.

OK, apologies for being serious, but I had thought about this before.

I'd like us to put windmills on the roof which would cut down of bills more than you think. Also, some solar panels on the Sandy Jardine roof, reflective ones that shed some sun on the grass in front of the main stand. I know we just up root a pitch and re-new it these days, but with some light on the grass it may reduce the amount of times this has to be done.

Also, there's great opportunity for commercial as to who advertises on the windmills and panels as well.

The windmills would fall through the roof if they are as bad as the Twitteratti say

Lightweight materials Lochy, not the wind mill stand as you already have the height on top of the stands.

If they really want to be serious about external funding sources ...

    Stadium naming rights.

It's not something I'd be overjoyed with but something like that is one of the only moves they could make that has the potential to bring in a substantial amount of cash.

And right now we could do with the cash.

Wouldnt be overjoyed at this, but would allow it as long it was for a substantial amount of cash and not something ridiculous like £1 .

We will all always still call her Ibrox anyway.

    Yea bud, my thinking exactly.

Would never be a popular move, but I don't see any other way at the minute that the club could raise funding that would make a difference.

Whereas a move like that could be negotiated, signed & sealed fairly quickly I'd imagine.

If we took naming rights now it would be at the naming companies price..... we would be better waiting until we get back on an even keel and sell for our price.

Doesnae need to be a ten year deal m8.
If they opened negotiations & the deal wasn't quite what they wanted, but not unattractive, limit the length of the deal & renegotiate when the deals up.

What was the deal years back where you could get your name on your seat? I might be wrong but i can remember it costing about £500 or something. Maybe an are worth looking into, though @ £500 would be abit steep. But im sure plenty of Bears would like & pay to have there name on there seat.

Should maybe consider departing with some of the funds bears already contribute to club 1872. There's bound to be enough floating around in those accounts that could go towards a good cause.

If they were to sell the naming rights all broadcast print media I assume would have to call Ibrox by its sponsors name. This wouldn't mean to much to older bears, for younger one though I don't think it would be long for them to forget the Ibrox name! 10 years maybe!

I get what your saying mate & totally agree, renaming Ibrox permanently we would all be dead against it, but for a short term (maybe 2 or 3 years) no more & if it meant a decent amount of cash coming in then i think most of us could live with it.

No one apart from tv or radio would call it the sponsors name anyway but if it gets us a decent budget for players for 5 years (10m a year min) its something we should look into.

That could happen, u just never know.
    I wouldn't think so tho m8.
I feel the situations different when a stadiums rebuilt or relocated, look at spurs, we were speaking of it just the other nite & we saw the pictures, a third of that new stadium will be built on the site of White Hart Lane, but the new stadium will carry the name of the highest bidder, & i honestly think that will sit easier with their fans than if the club had simply sold the naming rights to White Hart Lane, there's less of an emotional pull, after all, it isn't White Hart Lane, it's a completely new stadium.
If they sold the naming rights to Ibrox, it wouldn't sit easy with any of us, tho some would feel the pain more than others, but one thing can't really change ...
    It is still Ibrox.
It would be the same stadium, in the same place, with the same memories for those who go there & the only real difference would be in some of the advertising that's displayed around the place, which as long as it's not advertising holidays at carfin grotto or something as horrific as that, it would be an improvement at least on the many SD logos everybody can't wait to finally see the back of in the hopeful near future.
The fans would always call it Ibrox as long as Rangers play there & that would be passed down the generations in the same way that these things have always been done.
As long as those like yourself hand down the history to the next generation, like we've always done, then just like the team being more than a club, Ibrox will always be more than a stadium.
And it won't matter whose names up on a stand or on a wall, sponsors change, but unless we ever move & build a new stadium, Ibrox would always be Ibrox.

Well, if they called it the Diamond Dolls Arena we'd probably be able to attract some cool signings.
Fods is nae a bad goalie but I'm sure the shagger would think about a return.

Some really daft ideas on here, but let's be serious for a change.

We could create a Tayge O’Phone, and place it in the centre circle at HT
    SEE BELOW

Do a raffle, £5 to see who gets to pick the 8 “notes”.
eg Lennon, Griffiths, Lego Heid, Tom English, Chris Mutton, Sinclair, Paulo di Fanio, and Liewell
Thennnnnn, charge Bears a fortune to come oot and beat the shite oot of the bheasts whilst playing “Lady Of Spain”.
