Played Kilmarnock at Auchenhowie today and won 2-1 with Windass and Miller on target.

Anyone any info on starting lineup etc?

You seemed to know who, when, where and who scored so why don't you know?

Tried to find the starting 11, couldn't find it and realised that's 3 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. Much like whatever time it is to write this post.

cant find starting line up yet ...

According to reports, Rangers today played a closed-door friendly at Auchenhowie against SPL rivals Kilmarnock, in not dissimilar a fashion to the friendlies played this summer thus far as part of manager Pedro Caixinha’s pre-season program.

According to claims, the home side prevailed 2-1, with goals allegedly by Josh Windass and the ever-reliable Kenny Miller.

It is not known as yet what the team XI was, or indeed if these reports of a Rangers win are entirely accurate, but it would be a step in the right direction following recent stumbles in both friendlies and competitive action.

Kilmarnock had a very decent season finishing second top of their post-split group, with only Ross County and their ex-free scoring striker Liam Boyce above them, so Rangers taking the win today would be a decent boost in preparation for Fir Park next month.

Naturally the sterile environment of a closed-door friendly is hardly a substitute for match day, but during this fluctuating period at Ibrox, the morale will have taken a much needed jolt from such a result.

Graham Dorrans enjoyed a winning debut for Rangers after catching the eye in a closed-door game against Kilmarnock.
The Scotland star, signed last week from Norwich, played the second 45 minutes of a 2-1 success at Auchenhowie with Kenny Miller and Josh Windass on target as Scott Boyd netted for the Rugby Park side.
Light Blues boss Pedro Caixinha is desperate to give his squad as much game-time as possible ahead of their Premiership opener at Motherwell on August 5.
But it was Dorrans who caught the eye in yesterday's friendly.

A source said: “ Dorrans looked excellent when he came on, he was impressive and looked incredibly sharp for someone who hasn’t been playing for a while.
“It’s clear that he’ll be a huge player for Rangers.”
    Daily Record no firther information

Closed door game against St Johnstone this afternoon.

Fod, Tav, Cardoso, Wilson, Wallace, Jack, Pena, Dorrans, Kranjcar, Miller, Herrera.

Appears to still be 0-0 and I don't know how long it's been going on.

Apparently, Kranjcar has been asked to leave the pitch after screaming at the ref.

We should do more of that during league matches.

Rangers started the brighter of the two sides, creating twice inside two minutes as the game ticked towards 10 minutes on the clock. First Kenny Miller profited from some sweet build up play from Niko Kranjcar and Graham Dorrans before shooting high and wide. The striker did well to pull away and make room for himself on the edge of the box.

Up next James Tavernier stormed down the right to deliver a ball right onto the head of Eduardo Herrera. The Mexican skewed his header wide though in front of goal. In a near carbon copy of the move on 20 minutes Tavernier produced another great cross and the striker headed down onto the line. It took a superb save from Alan Mannus to claw the ball off the chalk.

Fabio Cardoso tried his luck from a Niko Kranjcar corner after 24 minutes but it was into the keeper’s hands. Carlos Pena then lashes a shot over the bar, which was always rising.

St Johnstone had their best chance of the half when Blair Alston sent an angled low drive flashing past Wes Foderingham’s right post a minute before the turnaround.

Foderingham’s replacement at the break, Jak Alnwick, was forced into early action as he made a decent save from David Wotherspoon five minutes in. Then at the other end Tavernier stung Mannus’ palms on 57 minutes when he picked up a short corner on the edge of the box and drilled a low shot across the box.

Four minutes past the hour mark substitutes and summer signings Daniel Candieas and Alfredo Morelos combined well to force the Saints keeper into a close range save. The Portuguese whipped a ball onto the mohawk of the Colombian from the right and he cannoned a header off Mannus. Moments later Cardoso turned a header just wide of the upright from a corner as the Gers edged closer to scoring.

Alnwick was at full stretch with 70 minutes played when he dived to tip a fizzing low strike from Chris Kane round the post. And then Josh Windass did well to send Martyn Waghorn on his way after picking out the striker with an in swinging ball from the left flank. The 27-year-old struck over on the angle though as he rushed through.

Eight minutes from time Morelos looked to have made the breakthrough Rangers needed when he skipped a challenge and then darted through one-on-one with Mannus from the left. The new addition dragged his shot wide though after opening his body up to side foot past the keeper.

Against the run of play the Saints opened the scoring on 87 minutes when a mix up in the young Rangers backline allowed the ball to fall to Callum Hendry. The 19-year-old who is the son of former Rangers defender and Scotland star has just joined the Perth side from Blackburn Rovers dinked the ball over Alnwick to give his side the lead and wrap the game up.

RANGERS XI: Foderingham (Alnwick 45’), Tavernier (Waghorn 65’), Wilson (Bates 45’), Cardoso (McCrorie 78’), Wallace (Thompson 78’); Pena (Holt 65’), Dorrans (Dalcio 70’), Jack; Kranjcar (Windass 35’), Miller (Candieas 58’), Herrera (Morelos 58’)

ST JOHNSTONE XI: Mannus, Easton (Watson 45’), Kerr, Shaughnessy (Gordon 45’), Comrie, Trialist (Habran), Paton, Alston, Craig, Scougall (Wotherspoon 45’), Kane

    Goals: Hendry 87’

I assume it was Colin Hendry's son.

Not looking good for the season KO, but there's no need to panic just yet as there's a few more weeks to go and at least two more games.

Regardless, we may even beat septic, but it makes slightly pointless if we're going to drop points against Accies, Saints and Thistle.

I'll be going to the Marselles game as I've got to see this team in the flesh.
