Walters concerns over the Bougherra situation

boughyWalter Smith now has a headche as what to do about  Madjid. The Algeria world cup play off situation involves Madjid, who is an important player for us.  Will the big man  be fit to play against Kilmarnock at Ibrox this weekend.

It is nearly 2 months since Madjid pulled on the light blue jersey and could be even longer if he plays in the important match for Algeria against Egypt on wednesday night. He played in their 2-0 defeat last week and is likely to play an important part in their upcoming  World Cup decider. Not only did he play in the game which saw the Algerians lose 2-0, he was also, along with his teammates a victim of a frightening attack on their bus after the game, the likelyhood of violence happening again on wednesday is high as the 2 nations have no love lost. Given that madjid has not been match fit and these games are high stress he is likely to be exhausted on his return to Glasgow on friday night.

This leaves Walter with a quandry as to whether to play the big defender or not. These are the decisions that could make all the difference for us. I am sure all of us wish Madjid all the best but our main concern is Madjid returns to us fit and healthy.
